My name is Craig Watters, and my intro to the Hudson Valley came after covering every foot of Central Park and the West Side Highway from the Battery to Spuyten Duyvil. Next up was Breakneck Ridge. An hour out of Grand Central, sitting at a cafe table outside of Guinan's with a coffee and a trail map, my world view of east coast lifestyle changed and I saw my future.
I became a weekender soon after, a Hudson Valley explorer not long after that, and a full-time resident in 2012. My curiosity and love for this place has only deepened since. I've learned the difference between a hamlet, a village, and a township — and why it matters to your tax bill. I've loved learning all the scenic back roads where you'll find the best trails, taverns, and turnouts — And I love sharing it.
The Hudson Valley is a lifestyle destination where serious money lives on quiet dirt roads and the famous lay low. More Land Rover than Lamborghini. And for those of us in the know, there is nowhere quite like it.
